Meh-xico
I was excited for this match but expected an uneven performance with the squad Piojo picked. What did we get? An uneven performance. I think several players had good games and helped their standing with the national teams, but the team was unable to finish the chances created. Overall, these 2 games did their job: provided glimpses of players for Piojo’s next 11.

The Good, The Bad & The Chuletita?
Mexico battled a strong Chile team to a goal less draw. It sounds a lot more exciting than that but it is what it is. The game felt like a track meet for most of the 90 minutes. Below are some thoughts on the game. Nothing too crazy, I’m just splitting it up into a couple sections for a quick read.

Chicharito- One Superclub To The Next
The more and more you look at the career of Javier Hernandez, the more you think you’re reading some script for a movie or a telenovela. His career started in one of the biggest clubs in North America and taken him to two of the biggest clubs in Europe. He became a fan favorite at United but the time has come to find greener pastures elsewhere. The loan to Real Madrid with a buy option has many wondering if it was the “right” move. So much that Tomas Boy chimed in for some reason. I stand with the minds that think this is a good move and I have my reason why.

Gracias Salcido
A veteran of countless battles for Mexico has decided to hang up his boots on his international career. It was officially announced at a press conference today by Chivas. He spoke about wanting to play in another WC but realizing it was not going to be. Therefore he has decided to step aside. I will definitely miss Salcido. Most fans did not expect him to make the 23 to Russia but assumed he would be there through at least the Gold Cup next year. He might not get the same recognition as Rafa Marquez but he should be praised for his club career as much as his national team career.

Empieza El Rumbo al Mundial Rusia 2018
The much maligned August friendlies are upon us. Every club manager’s worst nightmare. Clubs have made such a stink that FIFA will phase them out soon. In the mean time, lets just enjoy El Tri playing more home games in front of capacity crowds. If the game is within North America, I consider it a home game. Even at the World Cup, those games feel like home games for Mexico. Regardless of what continent it is on. Thus, is the power of the Mexico Brand. But back to the upcoming friendlies, El Piojo has picked a squad. Lets dive in to his selections.

One of the things that separates soccer from every sport in the US are the uniforms. While NBA, NFL, NHL, & MLB uniforms tend to stay the same over decades, soccer kits tend to get refreshed almost yearly. How else … Continue reading
La Liga… de Mexicanos
La Liga seems to be buying and signing every Mexican who can kick a ball, minus the Mexican treasure known as Bofo. Naturally, most of us are going to be following that league closer than in years past. Hopefully this article will clear up how you can do that.
