Salcedo was on loan with the German side with an option to buy from Chivas. Apparently, the Germans liked what they saw from him and put a ring on it by purchasing his rights and signing him to a 4yr deal.

The rumored fee is about €2.5m (~$3mil) and his deal will see him until the next World Cup in Qatar. This transfer comes after a loan with Fiorentina last year that did not see them exercise their buy option. I think its a smart buy for a player slated to go to Russia this summer. The former Chivas player could easily command much more if he has a strong showing for El Tri this summer.
